2CL / 2SCA - keys to sentence translation (photocopy)

1-      It has been raining (it has rained) since I got up this morning.
2-      How long haven’t you played soccer (how long is it since you played soccer)? I thought you could play better, but I was wrong.
3-      I have been ill twice so far (up to now) this year.
4-      When Margaret arrived (came), her boss was very surprised because she had never been late before (before then).
5-      The orchestra had been playing (had played) for about ten minutes when a man from the audience got up and started screaming (shouting).
6-      It was not the first time (that) I had seen Tom and Nick’s sister, but when I met her yesterday, at first (in the beginning) I did not recognise her.
7-      I have been queuing (I have been in a queue/I have queued) for an hour and I haven’t had the chance (possibility) to speak to anyone (anybody) yet. (or: I haven’t had yet the possibility…. / I still haven’t had the possibility…).
8-      Jill has not written to me for almost a month.
9-      When I noticed (saw) that she was not doing anything (she was doing nothing), I asked her if she had ever worked as a waitress before (if she had ever been a waitress before), but she did not answer. In that moment I understood that she was a foreigner and that she had not understood any (a) word of what I had been telling her (of what I had told her) all morning.
10- When I opened the door, my mother was angry because she had been ringing the bell for at least two minutes.
11- He told me that he was late because he had received (had got) a phone call before leaving home.
12- After having dinner (after dinner), he got dressed. But when he took his car keys, Mary called him to tell him that the party had been cancelled. (passive)
